Thomas Fire rebuild
A ground up anew residence that from the ashes of the Thomas fire in Ventura, CA.
"After losing our Ventura home in the Thomas Fire, My wife, Adele, and I hired William to design our new home. The site itself was highly problematic in that it was a very irregular shape. This presented some very difficult setback issues. William came up with an ingenious design in which the walls, instead of being parallel to one another, followed lines radiating from the vertex point where the property lines converge such that opposite ends of the home could run parallel to non-parallel property lines, solving the setback issues. Much like the best work of great architects such as Frank Lloyd Wright arose from solutions to problematic sites and gave rise to brilliant designs such as Falling Water and the Robie House, William’s solution gave rise to a wonderful structure that has been greatly admired by local residents since its construction.
