200 Pier was created to bring professional offices to a densely populated residential fabric, providing local professionals with working space options and eliminating or reducing their need to lose time in the infamous Los Angeles traffic. Complementing the surrounding historic buildings, 200 Pier Avenue is a cluster of small scale buildings rather than a singular monolithic structure. The building wraps around hidden internal parking. By eliminating external parking, the sidewalk is a relaxed, pedestrian walkway that is cohesive to the buildings.
Details were thoughtfully chosen to blend function and form, simplicity and grace. From the beams in the arched roof system to the raw beauty of the polished concrete floors, framework is artfully exposed rather than hidden behind excessive ornamentation. Vaulted ceilings, the rooftop garden, and floor-to-ceiling glazing take full advantage of the stunning ocean setting and panoramic views and create airy, bright spaces that invite and inspire.
