Private HomesSince the firm's inception in 2002, studioDIG has designed an array of additions, remodels, spec homes and custom residential projects.
We truly enjoy designing private homes and consider each design project to be a privilege. Each site presents distinct opportunities and requirements while each client brings with them unique style and tastes - their own rhythms or vibrations. The design process is a collaborative process where the end result is a space that reflects the client's unique lifestyle and even improves their life while having a minimal impact on the earth. |
Commercial, Mixed Use, Urban HousingWe love the stimulation and challenge of designing public spaces, urban housing and, particularly, multi-use buildings. Since each project is distinctive with a variety of attributes, opportunities and challenges, we take an in-depth approach to ensure the resulting building is a beautiful space that will be an asset to the community. Deeply examining factors such as:
:: how people will live, work, shop, eat and interact in the space :: the natural site opportunities and challenges (such as light, views, geology) :: interaction between building, community and surrounding area (such as traffic corridors and pedestrian passageways) |
PlanningA wide open tree lined walk, a narrow passageway, the creation of shadow vs light, public meeting places -- planning is as much about the scale and space between the buildings as the buildings that create the public spaces, the space for people.
Always a keen interest, studioDIG architects has been involved in numerous planning projects -- master plans and specific plans. We have facilitated multiple planning and design charrettes for specific plan and community meetings. |
FabricationWe've designed and fabricated a variety of objects for many clients -- some that were quite difficult to part with. It's a pleasure to design a functional architectonic object -- taking into account various applicational needs and demands -- then to produce it, applying a unique combination of elemental ingredients and processes to create a useful tangible form. The entire project cycle is very creative and engaging.
